Welcome to Rainbows in Nanaimo! Rainbows celebrates 30 years of grief support in Nanaimo! Rainbows provides support to families going through a major loss in their family. This program has provided much needed support to children, teens and their parents as they grieve and deal with changes in their family life. Rainbows offers a curriculum to the trained volunteers as they facilitate small groups. As they work through the 12 topics together kids learn that they are not alone and are not to blame for their families’ change. Kids and parents feel listened and cared for as they learn about feelings and coping skills. The kids love the activities, journals games, snacks and the fact that their community cares! WHO IS RAINBOWS FOR? WHAT IS GRIEF? WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES ARE THERE? WHO FACILITATES, COORDINATES AND DIRECTS? HOW CAN MY FAMILY FIND A LOCAL SITE?
